I live in Eugene, Oregon with my husband and our two cats. I work full-time assisting people in finding jobs and housing. Due to my busy schedule, I create art in small, manageable chunks of time. Watercolor and other water-soluble materials are perfect for this, allowing me to seamlessly integrate my creative pursuits into my daily life.
I am a watercolor and collage artist, specializing in capturing the essence of emotion, gesture, curiosity, and intrigue through a carefully curated, limited color palette. My creative process involves layering various materials such as graphite, watercolor, texture, fiber, and paper to add depth and dimension to my work. Each piece often begins with a reference photo that resonates deeply with me; there’s a moment of recognition when something inside says, “that’s the one,” and I know it’s time to bring it to life.
My approach is intuitive and spontaneous, with no rigid plan in place. For me, creating art is about venturing into the unknown, embracing uncertainty, and opening myself to new ideas, unexpected connections, and serendipitous moments that fuel my creative spirit. The journey of creation, with all its twists and turns, is almost more important to me than the final destination. It’s in this process that I find true fulfillment and joy
