I find that working, or I should say “playing”, in a sketchbook allows me to explore ideas and materials without pressure. I take my time with each page and leave my sketchbook out where I can see it and touch it daily. Sometimes it waits for days for me to return while I think about what the next line, mark, or color should be. I love my sketchbook and it can be hard to part with some of the pages but there is joy in sharing my work with others. Below are some favorite items from my current sketchbook. They are watercolor and ink with some colored pencil on mixed media paper.
